To Develop Advanced Level Expertise in Environmental Governance.

On Friday 31 October 2014, and on Monday, 3 November 2014, CASELAP organized formal sessions for oral examination of students who had prepared Theses in partial fulfilment of the requirements for degrees of Master of Arts: Environmental Law and Environmental Policy - as required by the Board of Postgraduate Studies of the University of Nairobi.

CASELAP congratulates the students who worked hard to get to this stage, and the supervisors for facilitating the exercise

On Thursday, 16 October 2014, CASELAP organized and held a session for PhD (Environmental Law, and Environmental Policy) students to present and discuss their thesis research concepts with Faculty members and fellow students, for critical review and constructive feedback. As part of CASELAP Ph.D teaching and supervision, concept preparation and presentation is a key step to identify research topics, researchp problem and objectives, before the students can develop full proposals for further faculty review, before formal defence.

On tuesday, 9 September 2014, CASELAP held the annual orientation programme for the Ph.D Environmental Policy; M.A Environmental Policy; and M.A Environmental Law students whose academic year begins every year in September. The orientation exercise is important for introducing the new students to the various administrative and academic aspects of the University of Nairobi, including allowing an advance opportunity to meet faculty members before commencement of classes. The Orientation session was Chaired by Prof Charles Okidi, who was representing the Director of CASELAP, Prof Nick Oguge.

CASELAP today (24 October 2014) held a session at which students in the Master of Arts, Environmental Law and Environmental Policy students presented proposals and concepts for thesis research, at various stages of development. Faculty members were on hand to interrogate the arguments presented, and to provide critical review for further guidance to students. This is part of the CASELAP strategic objective of providing high quality training in research at post graduate level.
