The Center for Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy joined the rest of the University of Nairobi, together with the Kenya Forest Institute and Equity Bank to participate in the tree planting initiative at the Parklands Campus, of the University of Nairobi. The exercise themed “UoN@50: Partnering in afforestation beyond the COVID-19 Pandemic” was carried out on the 18th of May 2021, in the presence of the Director CASELAP and other Faculty members, in an early contribution to the theme for the 2021 world environment day and UN 2021-2030 decade of restoring ecosystems.

For CASELAP, the activity aligns with our core focus which is environmental sustainability through scholarship. The ceremony also an occasion to remember the CASELAP founder and Environmental icon Prof. Charles Okidi who passed on recently.

Environmental sustainability requires continuous action, and as CASELAP, we commit to nurture the trees for the benefit of the future generation.
